DescriptionMulberry leaf extract was obtained from mulberry leaf powder processed from the first to third new leaves of mulberry branches in the late period of spring silkworm or before frost's fall. The powder was dried in the shade, crushed, then extracted with n-butanol, 90% ethanol and water, respectively, and then sprayed and dried.  The extract contains a variety of physiological active substances such as mulberry leaf flavonoids, mulberry leaf polyphenols, mulberry leaf polysaccharides, DNJ, and GABA, which are used to prevent and treat cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, obesity and anti-aging.

As a potent inhibitor of glucose metabolism enzymes (such as α-glucosidase, hexokinase, glucuronidase and glycogen phosphatase, etc.), DNJ can significantly delay the degradation process of polysaccharides, reduce the peak of postprandial blood glucose, and stabilize fasting blood glucose. In addition, DNJ has an insulin sensitizing effect, improving insulin resistance.

α-glucosidase is mainly distributed in the human small intestine and plays an important role in the decomposition of carbohydrates. They are responsible for breaking down oligosaccharides such as oligosaccharides in food into simple sugars, such as glucose. This glucose enters the body through the intestinal wall, causing a sharp increase in the body's blood glucose concentration. DNJ is a naturally potent α-glucosidase inhibitor that can competitively bind α-glucosidase in the small intestine, and the affinity is stronger than that of oligosaccharides such as sucrose and maltose and α-glucosidase, reducing the probability of oligosaccharide binding to α-glucosidase, thereby inhibiting fructose decomposition into glucose, and a large amount of sugar will not be absorbed and sent into the large intestine. Due to the action of DNJ, less glucose enters the bloodstream, so blood sugar is worth maintaining at healthy levels.
Stabilizes fasting blood sugar.
DNJ has the inhibitory activity of glycogen phosphorylase, which can slow down the degradation of liver glycogen into glucose, thereby smoothing fasting blood glucose. The"excess"glucose in the human body is stored in the liver in the form of glycogen. Glycogen can be broken down into glucose under the action of glycogen phosphorylase and released into the bloodstream, supplying muscles and other organ activities. Glycogen is one of the main sources of energy for providing physical activity. With the mutual conversion between glycogen and glucose, the blood sugar of normal people is in dynamic balance.
